Chris Sale(14-6) and Zack Wheeler(14-12) treated the Philadelphia fans to a
fine pitching duel at Freedom Park.  The Gotham Knights eventually emerged as
victors over the Philadelphia Freedom by the score of 2 to 1.
 
Philadelphia found themselves trailing quickly as the Gotham bats came through
in the first inning plating an isolated run.  After an out was recorded, Mike
Trout drew a walk.  Danny Jansen was a strikeout victim, unable to help out.
D.J. Stewart then was hit by a pitch.  Luke Raley followed and he doubled
scoring the run.  Gotham had only 5 hits for the night.  
 
Sale got help from Camilo Doval who earned his 6th save.
 
SEATTLE AT OYSTER BAY

Jarren Duran went deep and had 3 RBI at Forbes Field where the Seattle Jets
beat the hopeless Oyster Bay Tomcats by the score of 9 to 3.
 
Duran provided much of the offense.  He doubled in the 2nd inning, smashed a
two-run homer in the 6th inning and laced a base-hit scoring a run in the 9th
inning.  Seattle had 15 hits for the night while Oyster Bay had 8.  
 
The win went to Clayton Kershaw(20-6) who allowed 1 run in 7 innings. Tristan
Beck(1-9) was the loser.  He allowed 6 hits and no walks in 4 and 1/3
innings.  
 
 
NASHVILLE AT LAS VEGAS

Blake Snell retired 13 batters on strikeouts as the Las Vegas Aces outscored
the Nashville Classics 3 to 0.
 
Snell(16-14) pitched one of his finer games as he simply was too much for the
Nashville batters.  He didn't give up much, just 3 hits and 4 walks in 8
innings.  Las Vegas had only 6 hits for the game.  
 
Hoby Milner earned his 3rd save.  Joe Ryan(2-6) was charged with the loss.
Bruce Poulton was upset after the game.  'I don't like to complain but did
you see that umpires strike zone?', he said.  'Maybe they ought to start
calling the strike zone the way it's printed in the rule book.'
 
LOS ANGELES AT MASSACHUSETTS

The Massachusetts Mayhem and the Los Angeles Lycans locked up in an exciting
one-run game at Mass Mayhem Mall.  The final score was the Massachusetts
Mayhem 6, the Los Angeles Lycans 5 in 11 innings.
 
The score was tied at 4 after nine.  Massachusetts came out on top in the 11th
inning.  After two were out Anthony Santander was walked intentionally.
Adolis Garcia followed next and he slapped a single giving Massachusetts the
victory and sending the 34,906 home-town fans home happy.  Los Angeles was
out-hit by Massachusetts, 15 hits to 11.  
 
Angel Perdomo(13-3) was the winner allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. The
losing pitcher was David Bednar(2-4) in relief.  He was the victim of a
defensive lapse and did not allow an earned run in the game.  
 
 
ATLANTIC CITY AT DAYTON

Corey Seager lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 3 RBI as the Dayton
Grits bested the Atlantic City Surf 5 to 3 at Grit Park.
 
Dayton took the lead for keeps in the 4th inning scoring one runner on 3 base
hits.  Dayton totaled 8 hits on the afternoon.  
 
The winning pitcher was Kutter Crawford(11-9) who allowed no runs in 7
innings. Ryan Borucki gained credit for his 33rd save.  Sandy Alcantara(17-6)
was tagged with the loss.  He was touched for 3 homeruns in his 6 and 2/3
innings of work.  
 
 
TAMPA BAY AT OKLAHOMA

In a game at Target Field the Oklahoma Missilemen got by the struggling Tampa
Bay Firestorm by the score of 5 to 2.
 
Andres Munoz(7-8) earned the victory with a fine relief performance.  He did
not allow a hit or a walk in his 2 and 1/3 innings.  Josh Hader relieved and
was untouched by Tampa Bay as he recorded the save, his 11th.  
 
The loss was charged to Bailey Ober(5-6).  He allowed 3 runs and 8 hits in 7
innings.
 
DELAWARE AT VANCOUVER

One run was the difference at B.C. Place as the Delaware Devils defeated the
ice-cold Vancouver Flames 3 to 2.
 
The game was decided in the 8th inning. Adam Duvall smashed a solo-shot out of
the park.  Vancouver had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up
short.  
 
Jordan Montgomery(15-7) picked up the victory, allowing 2 runs in 7 innings.
Tanner Scott recorded the save, his 33rd.  Kyle Bradish(12-19) suffered the
loss.  He struck out 11 batters in 7 and 1/3 innings despite losing the game.
